How To Host A Stem Night

As Library Media Specialists or Technology advocates in our buildings, nosotros are always looking for means to add value and add great programming to our schoolhouse.  Media programming is non always visible, just it's an important office of our students' education.  Nifty Library Media programming allows our students to explore, create and expand their thinking.  Stalk Education and particularly Makerspace is a huge part of our Media Centers, but how can nosotros extend this beyond the classroom and go our families involved??? Family Stem nights of course!!

Schools take been hosting math and reading nights for a long time, merely STEAM or Stem nights are not as common.  You lot might find yourself volunteering to run a Stalk night for your school OR you may take been asked to run a Stalk night since it is your area of expertise, either way, it does not have to be expensive or overwhelming for you in order to be an awesome consequence for the schoolhouse community!

What is a Family unit STEM night?

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math.  Stalk nighttime is a dark planned full of

hands on activities that incorporate these subjects.  Activities usually involved building challenges that involve planning and edifice.  It is a fun night to showcase the STEM programming and curriculum that you lot already have going on in your school.

i. Set a Date!
